Unit ini terdiri dari Optik, Penguat Sinyal Sensor Suhu, Rangkaian Pemrosesan dan Layar LCD. Optik mengumpulkan energi inframerah yang dipancarkan oleh objek dan fokus ke Sensor. Kemudian sensor menerjemahkannya energi menjadi sinyal listrik. Sinyal ini akan berubah menjadi digital yang ditampilkan pada LCD setelahnya penguat sinyal dan rangkaian pemrosesan.
